An adobe of the Thampi royal family, the Chamundi hill resort is beautifully placed with very warm settings. The people are very happy to assist you at all time. The food they serve gives to the feel of staying with a very hospitable Keralite family.
There are hosts of facilities that the resort offers; there are fruits, plantations, ayurvedic massage center ( trust me, it’s a truly rejuvenating) which has won the prestigious ‘Green leaf Ayurvedic award’ from the government of Kerala. Spending a night in the tree house is an amazing experience. This resort at Chamundi Hill has very interesting history attached to it. According to the staff the resort was the home of Udaya Varma Raja, a member of the royal family and the Chief Secretary of Kerala (this is around sixty years ago). He bequeathed it to his son and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Thampi. The son unfortunately expired and there were no children to inherit this bountiful legacy. But there’s Mrs. Thampi, a veritable institution in herself. A charming, simple and spiritual person, she made the creation and running of the resort her mission and with the aid of dedicated and well-trained staff, has turned her large estate into the palace the world knows as CHAMUNDI HILL RESORT.
